1960s Premio Transistor Radio — Repurposed Bluetooth Speaker

This 1960s Premio transistor radio has been repurposed as a Bluetooth speaker while keeping the original case, dial and controls in place. Radios like this were originally designed as portable sets for everyday listening.

The original electronics are no longer in use, and it now connects wirelessly for modern playback. It runs on a 12V power supply and still uses the original internal speaker, which gives a clear, warm sound that works well for casual room listening.

The case shows some light signs of age and use, which I’ve left as part of its character rather than trying to make it look new.

Overall it still feels like the portable radio it started out as, just adapted to be practical to use today.
