1960s Pizon Bros Transistor Radio — Repurposed Bluetooth Speaker

This Pizon Bros transistor radio from the 1960s has been repurposed as a Bluetooth speaker while keeping the original cabinet, grille, dial and controls in place.

The original electronics are no longer in use, and it now connects wirelessly for modern playback. It runs on a 12V power supply and still uses the original internal speaker, which gives a warm, clear sound that works well for casual room listening.

The case shows light signs of age consistent with its use over the years, which I’ve left as part of its character rather than trying to restore it to look new.

Overall it still feels like the mid-century portable radio it started out as, just adapted to be practical to use today.
