1950s Bush Radio — Repurposed with LED Dial Lighting

A classic 1950s Bush radio that retains its original wooden cabinet and period details, with a subtle update for modern use. From the outside it still feels very much like a traditional mid-century valve radio, but it has been adapted to function as a Bluetooth speaker for everyday listening.

A soft LED light has been added behind the tuning dial, giving a gentle, warm glow that highlights the scale without overpowering it. It adds a quiet presence in the room, especially in lower light.

The original knobs, buttons, and tuning scale remain in place for their visual character, though the original radio functions are no longer active. Sound is delivered through the original internal speaker and is well suited to relaxed, room-filling playback.

The cabinet shows natural signs of age consistent with a piece from the 1950s, which adds to its charm rather than detracts from it. The top has been sanded and refinished with timber oil.
