1930s Vintage Peugeot Coffee Grinder Lamp

90.00

This started out as a vintage Peugeot coffee grinder, made in France sometime around the 1920s–1930s. You can still see all the signs of its original life: the worn blue paint, the softened edges of the wood, and the metal crank that once turned coffee beans by hand.

None of that has been cleaned up or hidden, it felt important to let it keep its age.
I’ve repurposed it into a small gooseneck table lamp, using a simple chrome E27 lamp holder and a flexible neck so the light can be adjusted easily. There’s an inline switch on the cord for everyday practicality. The bulb sits openly, becoming part of the object rather than something to disguise.

The conversion is deliberately minimal. The grinder hasn’t been “restored” — it’s been adapted. The chips, scratches, and patina are all original and tell you where it’s been before it became a lamp.

It’s a quiet piece, best suited to a desk, shelf, or side table, where it can be used and noticed without trying too hard. More an object with a past than a decorative statement.
